Is the fantasy we call Network marketing Success, aka Financial Freedom, an attainable goal for all who come seeking? Or is this favored status reserved for just a few who seem to have stumbled upon the magic formula in an industry that seems to have more than a reasonable share of failures. 

With more than 50 years of track record, our business model still shows a dismal and disproportionate ratio of failures-to-successes. This leads one, initially at least, to perceive that Network Marketing Success and this financial independence it promises are merely the substance of pipe dreams and wishing-well fantasies. 

Network Marketing Success – The Reality 

Every day, both online and face-to-face (Ok- phone to phone), I encounter someone or several someone’s, who are struggling to build a business they “hoped” would provide the way out of the stressful, mind-binding and sometimes very painful throes of financial lack. Or, in some cases, the lack of the time freedom that often times plagues those with sufficient money but no time to enjoy it due to JOB constraints. 

Thousands are entering this industry every day worldwide with a belief that Network Marketing Success is just a few mouse’ clicks away. Maybe you’re one of those who tried it without success in the “old days” but think the internet will simplify the process. Or maybe you’re a newbie who believes you can sponsor 30 in 30 days and build a team of thousands like the gurus flooding your email inbox do. 

Well, take heart. You may be in the majority at least. 97% in fact. (Percentage of those who typically do not reach their expected “dream” of Network Marketing Success). A sad but true statistic. They dream of financial freedom via Network Marketing Success, while available to all, will not be realized by everyone. 

Unfortunately, the internet has not helped our numbers very much. The stats remain about where they’ve always been. Again sad, but true. 

If you found it difficult to convince your family, friends, and co-workers to “join up” and share your newfound wealth ticket, try convincing some stranger in a far away land that you have the answer he or she is looking for. Worse still, you must first even find and connect with that far-off stranger. 

And if that connection is made, why will they choose you over all the other marketers flooding their email inbox and Facebook walls with the same pitch you offer? 

Get serious and ask yourself these questions. 

  • Do I have what it takes to conquer this? 
  • Do I have a ‘why’ big enough? 
  • What do I have to offer my prospect? 
  • If I found me on the Internet, would I choose to join me instead of all the others shouting the same pitch?

By the way, if you haven’t read Mike Dillard’s book “Magnetic Sponsoring “, don’t even continue in your quest for Network Marketing Success until you download it and do so. The most enlightening concept on why we are failing in this industry ever written. Get it, read it, then read it again. Don’t proceed until you do. 

Sadly, the network marketing industry, with so much potential and so much to offer, has not been typically viewed with favor by the masses. With an attrition rate in the upper 90% range, no wonder. 

But the potential and possibilities are still real. Only the reality of so many failures is the fly in the ointment.

How can we narrow this huge gap between those who achieve Network Marketing Success and those who fall short of reaching the dreams and goals they envisioned when they began this journey. 

Today I’m going to share some easy tips to help you get the Network Marketing success you’re looking for in your network marketing business. 

These are the 3 things I tell my entire team to focus on and it’s exactly how to build your network marketing business like a professional. 

How to Succeed in Network Marketing Quickly 

The first tip is to build your BELIEF. 

First off, if you are still in the looking stage, go back and consider the previous list. 

Do you have what it’s going to take? Do you consider yourself to be an entrepreneur type who won’t quit with every setback? (There will be a few of these.) Will you throw up your hands and quit when the rewards you believed were easily attained are still nowhere in sight? 

This is where those high 90% numbers come from. 

There are 3 key areas where you need to build your belief to get success and get results in your business. 

1. You need to build belief in the Network Marketing Industry. 

You can do this by doing a little research online, especially if you know where to look. A great place is the Direct Selling Association Website. 

For example, did you know that the profession is over 70 years old! And it’s actually even older than that in other forms. Anything that’s been around that long has to be worth something. 

Also, in the past year, 1 in 4 adults have purchased a product from a direct seller in the last year. That’s 25% of adults! 

If you feel you can’t weather the inevitable storm, please don’t start. Network Marketing Success will only come thru the same dedication, hard work, and tireless commitment that would be required to build a conventional business. 

2. For Network Marketing Success, you need to have a belief in your product.

If you don’t truly believe in your product, you aren’t going to be motivated to sell it and people aren’t going to believe you’re sincere when you tell them how great it is (HINT: It’s because you AREN’T being sincere!) 

A question I like to ask that should help you gauge your belief in your product is this: Would I still use the product even if I didn’t get paid you use it? 

If the answer is “Yes” you’re good to go. If the answer is “No”, you need to re-evaluate your business. You may need to focus on a specific product or set of products from your company, or you may need to find a different company with a product you can believe in. Either way, it’s imperative that you have a strong belief in your company’s product if you want to achieve success quickly in network marketing.

If you don’t believe in yourself and believe that you can be successful in this industry, people are going to sense that right away. That lack of confidence is going to come through in everything you do, from prospecting, presenting, talking about your product, making videos… everything. 

I asked a gentleman who had just gotten involved with an MLM opportunity if he’d ever had any experience with business and marketing in general. His answer was “no”. I asked if he had a solid business plan in place to succeed in Network Marketing. He said “No, but my brother-in-law is doing pretty good with it so I thought I’d try it”. 

Do you think he has a chance? 

At this level- NO. 

But if willing to accept coaching and training from someone who knows what it takes, he can be a success story. Network Marketing Success does not come to everyone whose brother-in-law is “doing pretty good with it”. It’s about you and what you can and will do that’s going to matter. 

The misunderstanding is this – While Network Marketing Success is available to everyone who starts, it will not be realized by all who start. Don’t enter this business and spend your money on a casual whim thinking you’ll get rich automatically because your sponsor did. You won’t. It takes work. Sometimes a lot of it. The most important ingredient in the mix is “you”. 

Do you really and truly have a “Why I want this” large enough to drive you (literally sometimes) to run when others around you sit down and quit, to fight when surrender seems easier, or to move forward toward a goal that is still only visible in your determined mind. 

Something to help you find belief in yourself is to plug into the community. Find and listen to other people’s network marketing success stories. You’ll find that people from all walks of life have found huge success in this industry, and you’ll even find people who are just like you and in very similar situations who still became successful in their home business. If I can do it, and if they can do it. YOU CAN DO IT TOO. 

Immerse Yourself in Success

I hate to be the one to break this to you, but.. there are a few people out there who have a negative opinion about network marketing companies. Some of these people might even be your friends or family. 

To be successful, you will need to either cut these people out of your life, or limit your time with them. These negative people will drag you down in your business and should be avoided at all costs. 

On the flip side you also want to surround yourself with successful people. You’ll find these people on your team (maybe your upline) you meet them at training events, on webinars, entrepreneur meetups, etc. You want to get into forums for your company and niche and talk with these people so they know who you are. At the very least, I call into a Morning Wake-Up Call every morning at 11am EST to listen to successful people provide mindset training and different tips for building your business. Lastly, You Need To Prioritize Money Making Activities. 

A productivity tip I learned recently said to set a few alarms to go off at random times during the day to help you be more mindful of how you’re spending your time. 

If the alarm goes off and you’re cruising Facebook or watching cat videos, take that as a reminder to stop and do something productive to your business. 

The most  important money making activity you can do for your business is to show people your presentation. And the second most important thing you can do (if you don’t have anyone to show your presentation to) is to generate leads.. to show your presentation to! There are absolutely other things you need to do in your business, like follow up with prospects, create content, etc., but those money-making activities should be at the top of your list if you want to achieve success quickly in network marketing.
